Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Position Summary
The chief operating officer (COO) reports to the chief executive officer (CEO) and is responsible for the company’s day-to-day operating activities, including revenue and sales growth; expense, cost and margin control; and monthly, quarterly and annual financial goal management. The COO will serve as a leader and mentor for the company, and as a high level corporate resource within the company, providing a road map and direction for growth. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the full scope of the Company’s development with projects. The COO will have the capacity to function at a strategic level and provide guidance and leadership for the company and CEO.
The individual must be a focused, experienced team-builder who will continuously improve the company by building and implementing strong processes and ensuring that the appropriate structure is in place to support scalable growth. The COO will be a primary driver in the overall growth of the company.
General Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct company operations to meet budget and other financial goals.
- Direct short-term and long-range planning and budget development to support strategic business goals.
- Establish the performance goals, allocate resources, and assess policies for senior management.
- Demonstrate successful execution of business strategies for overall real estate operation and development and for entertainment related businesses.
- Direct and participate in acquisition and growth activities to support overall business objectives and plans.
- Participate in capital market development, including participation in industry shows, bank meetings, analyst meetings, and more.
- Develop, establish, and direct execution of operating policies to support overall company policies and objectives.
- Oversee work by outside law firms
Real Estate Related Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Identifying and analyzing real estate opportunities
- Supervise sourcing the purchase and refinance debt
- New business development
- Supervise third party property management companies including marketing, leasing and ancillary monetization
- Oversee Property acquisition and dispositions
- Oversee property renovation and construction
- General operation of the real estate projects through their lifecycle with the company
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- Solid working knowledge of budgeting, sales, business development, and strategic planning.
- Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies.
- At least 15 years of experience, with 5 in an executive level position such as General Manager or Vice President of a commercial, retail or mixed use real estate company.
