Project Manager
Our Client, a leader in the heavy industrial construction industry seeks a Project Manager to join their organization!
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Must be a California Qualifying Agent/Responsible Managing Employee - holding your GC licence in heavy industrial construction (boilers, chillers, steam turbines)
• Coordinator of major projects both on site and in the field. • Responsible for meeting budget estimates and implementing cost controls. • Coordinate the interface between customer and company disciplines including, sales, service, engineering and operations. • Technical competence in boilers, controls, burners and construction is extremely beneficial. • Prefer experience working and managing in large projects.
Job Requirements:
- Experience with, and understanding of steam systems and related equipment.
- Prior duties to have included the ability to produce a budget, a work plan for construction, ability to negotiate contracts with sub-contractors and equipment suppliers, cost tracking experience, manpower planning,
- willingness to travel when necessary.
- The candidate would have had prior experience in a large industrial facility such as a refinery, chemical plant, or power plant.
- Field erected boiler experience is preferred.
- Experience estimating industrial type construction projects, including piping and control systems, material take offs, and the ability to read P&ID, and General Arrangement drawings is a requirement.
- College degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or a trade school majoring in Construction Management or Project Management would be preferred.
- Candidate must be proficient with the following MS products, Project, Excel, and Word.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or Landscape architecture
2 to 10 years of experience designing mechanical systems or landscaping
You must be licensed to work in the United State and have a minimum of two SOLID years of work experience in these related areas.
We prefer candidates local to Los Angeles county but will consider relocation based on the quality of experience.
SALARIES
Range from $60,000 to $130,000 based on experience

Manager of Mechanical Engineering and Architectural Design This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating all Mechanical Engineering and Architectural design for multiple entertainment-style projects world wide. Monitors quality of all designs and information flow between departments to meet delivery schedule. Provides technical expertise and ensures work in place meets quality requirements of contact documents, applicable codes and Client standards. Coordinates interface with design team, contractors, operations, vendors and governmental agencies. This position is the "Traffic Cop" between multiple in house design teams and upper management.
CORE FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all in house design in accordance with Upper Management and Client’s request
- · Supervises and coordinates both Mechanical Engineering and Architecture design departments. Working on anywhere from 1-6 projects at a time
- · Insure quality, delivery and billing of all SD, DD and CD documents (billable 30%, 60%, 90%)
- · Review all written specs, operational requirements and outlines for thoroughness and completeness
- · Arbitrates on-site conflicts between departments during design review meetings
- · Provides constructability + performance analysis and value engineering recommendations.
- · Identifies and monitors applicable points of coordination at multiple levels.
- · Assures quality project contract drawings and specifications.
- · Insure EROs = Equipment Release orders for fabrication of design elements
- Insure that Mechanical and Architectural designs meet the "VISION" of each project.
- · Oversee Moc-ups for design, materials testing and submittals,
- · Ensure work in place meets quality requirements of contract documents, applicable codes and Client standards.
- · Monitor “testing activity” activities and ensure proper results are achieved.
- · Coordinates with CM and design team, reviews submittals and site delivered materials for compliance to contract documents.
- Oversee coordination between design departments and CAD support group
- Oversee coordination between design departments and Systems Integration, Operation & Maintenance Writers and Electrical Systems departments
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- · 10-20 Years job related field experience in applicable product/project development (attractions, oil & gas, fabrication, fluid dynamics and design). Strong emphasis in mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
- · Ability to communicate effectively with management, internal design teams, contractors and field personnel, consultants and operator.
- · Ability to manage multiple priorities on several projects
- · Ability to provide technical expertise in design and construction activities to ensure adherence to quality standards.
LEADERSHIP SKILLS:
- · Ability to build and foster strong working relationships with contractors, sub-contractors, consultants, to achieve successful completion of projects, on time, under budget, and to client quality expectations.
- · Conflict management ability.
- · Ability to manage multiple relationships and personalities.
- · Ability to manage the situation appropriate to different individuals.
- Must be able to handle an ever changing creative environment.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
4 year degree required, Disciplines of Mechanical Engineering or Architecture preferred
