Cambridge, MA-based Acorn Holdings, LLC has broken ground on 605 Concord, a mixed-use transit-oriented development that will deliver 49 apartment units above 2,500 square feet of street-level retail space to Cambridge’s Fresh Pond neighborhood.

Needham, MA-based Nauset Construction is the property’s construction manager.

The development is located near public outdoor recreational spaces, stores, restaurants and public transit, including an MBTA bus stop and the Alewife Red Line Station.

“As traffic returns to pre-pandemic levels, housing options located near transit hubs become even more attractive to tenants,” said Phil Terzis, VP of development for Acorn Holdings

The 69,000 square foot, six-story community will be comprised of a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom units, with 15% of the units designated as affordable. Resident amenities will include a below-grade parking garage, lobby lounge, bike storage/repair area, and a dog washing/grooming station.

The ground floor will feature a continuous 12-foot-high glass storefront.
