The long-awaited Aiden by Best Western @ San Antonio River Walk is almost ready for business. The pandemic, supply chain issues and budget overruns slowed things down, but the newly revamped Best Western in St. Paul Square will reopen at the end of May.

A partnership between local group Weinritter Realty and Hagee Hospitality Group is set to deliver the Aiden, a 79-room boutique brand. It’s the tenth example of the Aiden sub-brand in the nation and the second in Texas. The average room has a square footage of 400 square feet. The fifth floor features a presidential suite. A basement-level speakeasy is planned to open at the end of the year.

Nightly rates are expected to run into the $200’s once the hotel gets up and going.

The original building, constructed in 1910, was the George Icke & Bros. grocery store.
