Comp package – $220,000 – $250,000 + 30% performance bonus

Our Los Angeles based client is an affiliate of a $4.5b real estate organization, which owns over 160 properties worth a combined $4.5bn in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and LA. Our client’s mission is to end the housing affordability crisis by delivering apartments that are affordable to the middle-class or workforce segment, with rents that range from $1,200 to $2,500. The goal is to develop 10,000 units within the next 5 years, and the company is currently developing 540 units. They are a fast moving, rapidly growing, capitalized company and the employee is expected to feed this growth by finding development sites.
The employee in this position will be providing leadership to the acquisitions team. Expanding the team’s acquisition bandwidth will be dependent on this individual’s ability to source new sites, negotiate with owners, participate in due diligence process, manage capital stack formation and associated debt and equity relationships and report to the principals. Expert understanding of RE transactional terms and concepts is a must. Must be highly organized and systematic thinker.
As the Chief Investment Officer, you will manage the sourcing, underwriting, acquisition/disposition, and debt/equity procurement processes for assets in Southern California, while directing and overseeing acquisitions team activities to ensure efficient operations, compliance with standards and procedures, and sound investment decisions. Significant interaction with several departments and individuals including legal, finance, operations, asset management, capital development and construction will be required.
