The city of Greensboro issued a $25.4 million building permit for an AC Hotel at 235 N. Eugene Street in downtown Greensboro. The hotel will be a nine-story, 159-room AC Hotel with a lobby bar and rooftop restaurant called The Bristol. It is phase I of a mixed-use development.

Phase II will include the rest of the Carroll at Parkside project: 337 upscale apartments, 16,000 square feet of retail space and 4,500 square feet of event space that can seat roughly 200 to 300 people.

The Triad Business Journal reports the hotel will cost roughly $67 million, while the whole Carroll at Parkside project will cost about $150 million.

Work may begin in a month. Hoar Construction is listed as the general contractor on the project.
