Randalls closed its Clear Lake store in 2020, and now it looks like a tenant will be able to absorb the space. Center owner Partners Real Estate has signed Elite Pickleball to fill the void left by Randalls. Partners purchased the nearly 100,000-square-foot Bay Pointe Shopping Center from Pennington Chen Interests in 2021, which developed the retail center in 1994.

The entire former Randalls space is 68,500 square feet, leaving 28,500 square feet to be filled. With the pickleball lease, the center is 68% leased.

Lesley Rice, Andy Parrish and Audrey Schulz of Partners’ project leasing team negotiated the seven-year lease for the landlord. The tenant was represented by Huntley Grichor of Red Key Houston.

It’s the second Houston location for the pickleball club after opening its first at 610 W. 6th St. last summer. It will feature 14 courts, a food and beverage area and a small pro shop. Elite Pickleball Club hopes to open next January.
